Supreme Court defers Tejpal interim bail hearing to November 5

A two-judge bench comprising Justices M.M. Sundresh and Prasanna B. Varale deferred proceedings in the high-profile case involving Tehelka founder-editor Tarun Tejpal after the Goa government sought additional time to prepare its submissions.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing on behalf of the state government, requested the adjournment during the hearing. The bench accepted the request and scheduled the next hearing for November 5, when the interim bail plea will be taken up for consideration.

The case has drawn significant attention given Tejpal's prominence as a media personality and founder of the investigative journalism publication Tehelka. The interim bail plea remains pending before the apex court as legal proceedings continue in the matter.

With the adjournment, the state government will have additional time to file its counter-affidavit and present its arguments before the bench. The postponement underscores the complexity of the legal proceedings involved in the case.
