Surat youth arrested for kidnapping friend's father over friendship dispute
Police in Surat have arrested a young man and two accomplices for allegedly kidnapping a businessman at gunpoint following a friendship dispute with his daughter. The victim was recovered safely within hours of the abduction.

A friendship gone wrong escalated into a serious crime in Surat when a youth allegedly orchestrated the kidnapping of his former friend's father to coerce an apology. According to police, Rishabh Nahta arrived at the girl's residence with two associates, armed with a pistol and knife, and forcibly took her father into a waiting vehicle.
The incident stemmed from tensions between Nahta and the girl after their friendship ended. Investigators said Nahta sought to pressure the girl into an apology through the abduction of her father, a businessman.
Police launched a swift operation utilizing technical surveillance and CCTV footage to track the suspects and vehicle. Authorities apprehended all three accused within hours and successfully recovered the businessman unharmed. The case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to establish all circumstances surrounding the abduction and determine charges under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
