The suspected improvised explosive was discovered mixed in with scrap metal delivered to the commercial recycling facility. Police have secured the area and launched an investigation into how the device entered the supply chain and where it originated.
The South Cotabato Police Regional Office has taken custody of the suspected device pending further examination by bomb disposal experts. Initial reports indicate the explosive may have been fashioned from a standard military-grade RPG warhead, though confirmation is pending technical analysis.
