Suvarnabhumi Airport clears itself in baggage tampering probe

Suvarnabhumi Airport's management released findings from an inquiry into a traveler's allegation that their luggage had been opened without authorization. Following a thorough review of the incident, airport authorities determined they had no culpability in the matter.

The investigation examined handling procedures and security protocols at the facility to determine whether airport staff or operations contributed to the baggage being accessed. Officials concluded that based on available evidence, neither airport personnel nor airport operations were involved in the opening of the passenger's luggage.

The finding comes as Suvarnabhumi continues to handle approximately 60 million passengers annually, making it Thailand's busiest aviation gateway. The airport has previously emphasized its commitment to passenger service and baggage security standards.

Passengers experiencing baggage-related issues at Thai airports are typically advised to file formal complaints with the relevant airline carrier, as airlines maintain primary responsibility for baggage handling and security throughout the check-in and loading process.
