Swiggy shares tumble to record lows as foreign investors exit
Swiggy's stock has plummeted 26% over the past month to hit an all-time low, extending losses to 46% below its IPO price. The decline has been accompanied by a significant pullback from foreign portfolio investors, who have slashed their stake in the food delivery platform.

Shares of Swiggy have entered uncharted territory as the food delivery and quick commerce company continues to face selling pressure from institutional investors. The stock's recent slide to record lows underscores growing concerns about the company's valuation and profitability prospects in a highly competitive market.
Foreign portfolio investors have substantially reduced their exposure to Swiggy, with shareholding data revealing a sharp decline in their stake. In the September 2026 quarter, FPIs held just 8.55% of the company, down from 13.96% at the end of the June 2026 quarter, marking a significant retreat by international investors.
The pullback by foreign funds signals weakening confidence in Swiggy's ability to navigate India's challenging logistics and delivery sector. Since its debut on public markets, the company's valuation has compressed sharply, with current levels representing less than half the price at which shares were initially offered to investors.
The sell-off reflects broader concerns about unit economics and cash burn in India's food delivery industry, where fierce competition and thin margins have pressured profitability across the sector. Swiggy's declining foreign investor participation may add further headwinds to its stock price in the near term.
