KUALA LUMPUR — Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) has progressed substantially in implementing recommendations from a Royal Commission of Inquiry, with 76 per cent of proposed reforms now in place, lawmakers were informed during parliamentary proceedings on Monday.
The pilgrim management body has been working to address governance shortcomings and institutional weaknesses identified through the formal investigation. The implementation of these recommendations represents a significant step in strengthening TH's operational and financial oversight mechanisms.
The remaining 24 per cent of recommendations continue to be processed as part of the ongoing reform agenda. Officials have indicated that completion of the full reform programme remains a priority for the organisation.
TH has faced scrutiny in recent years over management practices and financial accountability. The Royal Commission's findings prompted a comprehensive review of the institution's governance structure and operational procedures.
The parliamentary update reflects efforts by the pilgrimage fund to restore confidence among the millions of Malaysians who contribute to and rely on TH for hajj arrangements and savings services.
