TACLOBAN CITY — Leyte Normal University (LNU) has lifted its uniform requirement as the region grapples with extreme heat conditions, permitting students to wear appropriate civilian attire while on campus.
The Leyte Normal University Supreme Student Council (SSC) announced the temporary suspension of the prescribed uniform policy, which became effective Tuesday. The adjustment aims to provide relief to the student body amid rising temperatures affecting the Eastern Visayas.
The decision reflects growing concerns about student welfare during the hot season. By allowing flexibility in dress code, the university seeks to reduce heat-related discomfort without compromising campus discipline and decorum.
The suspension remains in effect while elevated temperature conditions persist. University officials have not specified when the uniform requirement will be reinstated, noting that the policy will be reassessed based on weather conditions and student feedback.
