Talacauvery prepares for sacred Cauvery spring emergence ritual

The sacred ritual of Cauvery Theerthodbhava, marking the emergence of the Cauvery river from its source, is set to commence at 7:50 p.m. on Saturday at Talacauvery in Kodagu district. The phenomenon, believed by devotees to occur once annually, draws significant crowds of pilgrims to the hillside shrine located in the Western Ghats.

Administrative authorities have put in place extensive arrangements to accommodate the anticipated devotees attending the ceremony. Free bus services have been organized from nearby towns to facilitate access to the sacred site, while security personnel will be deployed to manage crowd movement and ensure public safety throughout the event.

Beyond transportation and security measures, officials have coordinated additional facilities for pilgrims, including drinking water, sanitation provisions, and medical assistance. The arrangements underscore efforts to provide a safe and orderly experience for worshippers during the significant religious observance.

Talacauvery holds particular importance in Hindu tradition as the recognized source of the Cauvery river, one of South India's most revered water bodies. The annual Theerthodbhava ceremony remains a focal point in the religious calendar for devotees across Karnataka and neighboring regions.
