The Tamil Nadu government has cleared the way for a new infrastructure project at the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court. During proceedings before Justices G. Jayachandran and K.K. Ramakrishnan, the state's advocate general conveyed the government's in-principle acceptance of the proposal for constructing additional buildings at the judicial complex.
According to the assurance provided to the bench, the necessary government order authorizing the project would be issued within a fortnight. This administrative approval marks a significant step toward addressing the infrastructural requirements of the Madurai Bench, which handles judicial matters across the southern districts of Tamil Nadu.
Following the issuance of the government order, the foundation stone-laying ceremony for the new buildings is expected to be conducted. The project aims to enhance the facilities and operational capacity of the Madurai Bench, one of the two permanent benches of the Madras High Court, to better serve the region's legal system and citizens.
