Vote counting is in progress for two key Assembly seats in Tamil Nadu following bypolls held on October 6. The Madurantakam and Dharapuram (SC) constituencies are among five constituencies across three states and union territories where voters exercised their franchise on the same day.
The bypolls were necessitated due to vacancies in these Assembly segments. Election officials have deployed adequate security and administrative arrangements to ensure smooth and transparent counting of votes at designated centers.
Trends indicating the likely outcome of the elections are expected to emerge as the counting process advances. The results will provide an indication of voter sentiment in these constituencies and could influence the political dynamics in Tamil Nadu's assembly.
Beyond Tamil Nadu, bypolls were also held simultaneously in two constituencies in West Bengal and one in Puducherry. Results across all constituencies are being compiled as counting operations continue throughout the day.
