Tamil Nadu CM honours organic farming excellence with Nammazhvar Awards
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin presented the Nammazhvar Awards to recognise outstanding contributions to organic farming in the state. The ceremony also saw the presentation of a national bravery award to the family of a deceased school headmaster.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin presented the Nammazhvar Awards on Tuesday, honouring individuals and organisations for their exceptional work in promoting organic farming practices across the state. The awards form part of the government's initiative to recognise and encourage sustainable agricultural methods that benefit both farmers and the environment.
The chief minister also conferred the Union government's Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak 2025, a national award for bravery, upon Srisha, the widow of P.S. Gowrishankar Raja. Gowrishankar Raja, who served as headmaster of a school in Krishnagiri district, was posthumously recognised for his heroic actions. The presentation marked a tribute to his family for his extraordinary service and sacrifice.
The dual recognition underscores the state government's commitment to celebrating excellence across sectors, from agriculture to education and public service. The ceremony reflects Tamil Nadu's ongoing efforts to support organic farming adoption while honouring exemplary contributions made by citizens in various fields.
