Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin returned from the United Kingdom on Tuesday carrying investment commitments valued at Rs 15,300 crore, signaling renewed momentum in attracting foreign capital to the state.
During his visit, Stalin engaged with business leaders and investors to explore opportunities for joint ventures and partnerships. The discussions encompassed sectors critical to Tamil Nadu's growth agenda and aligned with the state's industrial development priorities.
The Chief Minister also held formal meetings with Indian High Commissioner Kumaran Periyasamy, where conversations centred on strengthening economic ties between India and the United Kingdom. The discussions underscored the potential for deeper collaboration under the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement, which aims to facilitate increased bilateral commerce and investment flows.
The visit underscores Tamil Nadu's continued efforts to position itself as a preferred investment destination in India. State officials have been actively promoting the region's manufacturing capabilities, technological infrastructure, and skilled workforce to overseas investors.
