Tamil Nadu CM Vijay unveils ₹4,800 crore drinking water infrastructure plan

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Tuesday announced a major drinking water infrastructure programme valued at ₹4,800 crore, marking a significant investment in the state's public water supply systems. The announcement was formally made under Rule 110 of the Tamil Nadu Rules of Procedure, which allows for executive decisions on matters of public importance.

The state government framed the initiative as part of its broader agenda to strengthen public welfare services and improve access to essential utilities across Tamil Nadu. Officials indicated the project would focus on expanding and upgrading drinking water distribution networks to underserved regions, addressing long-standing infrastructure gaps in both urban and rural areas.
