Tamil Nadu deputy CM backs state's Navodaya school stance

Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin on Monday expressed approval of Tamil Nadu's decision regarding Navodaya Vidyalayas, signalling the state government's firm position on the matter. The senior DMK leader indicated that the government intends to convene a special session of the state Assembly to formally reiterate Tamil Nadu's stance on the institutions.

Navodaya Vidyalayas, established and run by the National Institute of Open Schooling under the Union Ministry of Education, have remained a point of contention between the state and central governments.
