Tamil Nadu doubles archaeological funding, plans modern research lab

The Tamil Nadu government has substantially raised its commitment to archaeological research and heritage conservation with the enhanced funding allocation. The increased budgetary provision will facilitate more extensive excavation and preservation activities across the state's historically significant sites.

A key component of this investment is the establishment of a modern archaeological laboratory equipped for scientific analysis. The facility, which will require an outlay of ₹2 crore, is designed to conduct sophisticated examinations of artifacts and samples recovered from excavation sites.
