Tamil Nadu pilgrims trapped in Nepal as flash floods wreak havoc

Approximately 148 pilgrims from Tamil Nadu, who were part of a trip organised by the Isha Foundation, remain stranded in Nepal following severe flash floods that have devastated the region. The group's predicament has triggered an urgent rescue response from state authorities.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister has expressed shock at the scale of the natural disaster and ordered speedy, coordinated rescue efforts to bring the stranded pilgrims back safely. State officials are working in tandem with rescue teams to locate and extract the group from affected areas.

Issha Foundation founder Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev confirmed the details of the stranded pilgrims, indicating the foundation is closely coordinating with authorities on the ground. The state government has announced dedicated helpline numbers to assist families seeking information about their relatives and to facilitate coordination with rescue teams.
