Esakki Subaya, the AIADMK MLA elected from Ambasamudram in the 2026 Assembly election, submitted his resignation from the House on May 26 to join the ruling Tamil Maanila Congress (Moovendar) party. The legislator has now moved a petition seeking to withdraw the resignation he filed.
The Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly will adjudicate on Subaya's plea to reverse his resignation following the completion of the ongoing Budget session.
