Tamil Nadu to build new Assembly-Secretariat complex at Pattinapakkam

The State government has taken a significant step toward modernizing its legislative and administrative infrastructure by issuing an order approving the construction of a combined Assembly-Secretariat complex at Pattinapakkam in Chennai. The facility will be developed at the Foreshore Estate, utilizing an aggregate area of 25.55 acres.

The new complex is envisioned to consolidate the functioning of the State Assembly and Secretariat under one integrated facility, replacing the existing dispersed arrangement of government offices across the city. This centralized approach is expected to enhance operational efficiency and improve coordination between legislative and executive functions.

The project represents one of Tamil Nadu's major infrastructure development initiatives aimed at creating world-class facilities for state governance. The construction of such a comprehensive complex typically involves detailed planning for legislative chambers, administrative offices, public galleries, and supporting amenities.
