Tamil Nadu to install bottle return machines at all TASMAC outlets

The Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC) will introduce bottle return machines across its entire network of retail outlets, according to an announcement by the state's Prohibition and Excise Minister K. Vignesh. The initiative aims to streamline the return process for empty bottles and improve operational efficiency at the state-run alcohol distribution points.

The tendering process for procuring the machines is on track to be completed within 20 days, the minister stated. Once the procurement phase concludes, installations will proceed across all 4,048 TASMAC outlets operating throughout the state.

Minister Vignesh also issued a stern warning to TASMAC employees against disrupting business operations at the outlets. The directive underscores the government's commitment to maintaining uninterrupted service at these retail points during the implementation of the new system.

The bottle return machine initiative is part of broader efforts to modernize TASMAC's infrastructure and enhance customer convenience. Officials believe the automated system will reduce manual handling of returned bottles and improve hygiene standards at the outlets.
