Tamil Nadu to roll out new ARIVU curriculum from next academic year

Tamil Nadu's School Education Minister announced plans to introduce the ARIVU curriculum across government schools beginning the next academic year, marking a significant shift in the state's pedagogical approach.

The new framework will be rolled out in three tiers, each tailored to specific student development stages. ARIVU Foundation will serve Classes I through V, focusing on foundational concepts and skill-building. ARIVU Discovery will cater to Classes VI through VIII, emphasising conceptual understanding and exploration. ARIVU Edge will be implemented for Classes IX through XII, concentrating on advanced learning and specialisation.

The tiered approach aims to align curriculum delivery with developmental milestones, enabling educators to customise instruction based on age-appropriate learning objectives. Officials believe the structured progression will improve student engagement and academic performance across the school system.

The state education department has indicated that comprehensive teacher training programmes will accompany the curriculum rollout to ensure effective implementation. Schools will receive necessary instructional materials and resources to support the transition to the new framework.
