The local government of Tarlac City has ordered the suspension of classes and school-based work on Tuesday, October 6, across all kindergarten and high school levels to commemorate National Teachers' Day and World Teachers' Day.

Mayor Susan Yap issued Executive Order No. 50 to implement the suspension, aimed at providing teachers and students adequate time and opportunity to participate in the annual observance honoring the teaching profession.

The suspension applies to all learning institutions operating under Tarlac City's jurisdiction. The directive seeks to recognize the vital role educators play in the nation's educational system and in shaping the future of Filipino youth.

National Teachers' Day, observed annually on October 5, celebrates the contributions and achievements of teachers in society. The observance also aligns with World Teachers' Day, which is recognized internationally to acknowledge the significance of the teaching profession.
