Task force seizes P13M in equipment during Iligan illegal mining raid

A coordinated task force dismantled an alleged illegal mining operation in the hinterland communities of Iligan City, Lanao del Norte on Wednesday afternoon, seizing substantial equipment and making multiple arrests. The operation, conducted on August 19, resulted in the confiscation of machinery and tools valued at P13.16 million, according to authorities.
Three individuals were taken into custody during the raid, which targeted mining activities conducted without proper permits or regulatory oversight. The joint task force mobilized personnel and resources to conduct the enforcement action in the remote upland barangays of the city.
Brig. Gen. Christopher Abrahano, director of the Police Regional Office-10 (PRO-10), commended the participating units for their coordinated efforts in disrupting the illegal operation. The seizure represents a significant blow to unauthorized mining activities in the Mindanao region.
The confiscated equipment has been turned over to the appropriate government agencies for inventory and documentation. Authorities continue to investigate the extent of the illegal mining network operating in the area.
