Tata Chemicals surges 29% in two days on strong trading volume

Tata Chemicals rebounded significantly from its intra-day low on Tuesday, recovering 14 per cent amid notably elevated trading volumes. The rally extended gains across a two-day period, with the stock advancing approximately 29 per cent overall.

The rebound reflects growing investor confidence in the diversified chemicals company, which maintains a substantial portfolio of assets and interests across multiple business verticals. The heightened trading activity suggests renewed institutional and retail interest in the scrip.

Among Tata Chemicals' key holdings is its stake in Tata Sons, India's flagship conglomerate holding company. The company's 2.5 per cent stake in Tata Sons represents a significant asset on its balance sheet. According to valuation estimates by ICICI Securities, the hypothetical investment value of this holding could range between ₹10,000 crore and ₹15,000 crore, depending on the methodology applied.

This substantial underlying asset value has come into sharper focus for market participants, potentially underpinning the recent positive momentum in the stock. The valuation exercise underscores the company's considerable financial reserves and strategic positioning within the broader Tata Group ecosystem.
