Tata Power to establish ₹54 crore innovation hub in Odisha

Tata Power has announced plans to establish a global capability centre (GCC) in Odisha with an investment of ₹54.31 crore, marking a significant expansion of the company's technology and innovation infrastructure in eastern India. The new centre will concentrate on developing next-generation artificial intelligence-driven solutions tailored for the energy sector, aligning with the company's strategic push toward digital transformation and sustainable energy technologies.

The facility is anticipated to create around 110 skilled job positions, contributing to employment growth in the state while strengthening Tata Power's technical workforce. The centre is expected to function as a hub for technology development, research, and innovation, supporting the company's operations across its renewable energy, conventional power, and distribution businesses.

The establishment of the GCC reflects Tata Power's commitment to leveraging technological advancements to enhance operational efficiency and develop solutions addressing contemporary energy challenges. Odisha, which has emerged as an important industrial and technology destination in eastern India, provides a strategic location for the centre's operations and talent acquisition efforts.

This investment underscores the growing focus of major energy companies in India on artificial intelligence and digital technologies to optimize power generation, distribution, and consumer engagement. The initiative also aligns with India's broader objectives of advancing clean energy adoption and building a technology-driven economy.
