TDB, Kerala government pledge coordinated push for Sabarimala season

The Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) and the Kerala government have resolved to work in tandem to ensure smooth operations during the forthcoming Sabarimala pilgrimage, following a meeting between TDB leadership and Minister K. Muraleedharan.

The commitment marks an attempt to address mounting concerns over preparatory delays at the popular Lord Ayyappa shrine in Pathanamthitta district. Muraleedharan, who oversees religious affairs in the state, had previously voiced his frustration with the pace of arrangements, signalling the need for accelerated action ahead of the season.

Following their discussions, both the TDB and the government indicated their intention to coordinate closely on logistical and administrative matters to enhance the pilgrim experience. The focus appears to centre on addressing bottlenecks in infrastructure and crowd management preparations.

Sabarimala, one of India's most visited pilgrimage sites, draws millions of devotees annually, particularly during peak seasons. Efficient coordination between the religious board and state authorities is considered critical to managing visitor flows and maintaining sanctum operations.
