Telugu Desam Party leader Varla Ramaiah on Tuesday claimed that YSRCP chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy would face expedited court proceedings in multiple corruption cases filed against him. Ramaiah alleged that the investigations, which have stretched over 15 years, would no longer be subject to delays that previously characterized the legal process.
Ramaiah stated that the YSRCP chief no longer enjoys the ability to prolong court cases as daily trial hearings have been scheduled by the judiciary. The TDP leader's remarks come amid ongoing legal disputes involving the former Andhra Pradesh chief minister, who has faced multiple allegations of financial irregularities during his tenure.
The acceleration of court proceedings marks a significant shift in the handling of these high-profile cases. Legal experts suggest that daily trial schedules are typically adopted to expedite resolution of complex criminal matters, particularly those involving public figures and substantial evidence.
Jagan Mohan Reddy has previously denied all allegations of corruption and has maintained that cases against him are politically motivated. The YSRCP leader stepped down as chief minister in 2024 following electoral defeats, after which several investigations intensified.
