TDP sweeps all 12 urban local bodies in Rayalaseema region

The TDP-led alliance has achieved a complete sweep of urban local body elections across the three Rayalaseema districts, winning all 12 municipalities in the region. The decisive victory underscores the coalition's electoral strength in these constituencies, which together represent a significant urban voter base in Andhra Pradesh.

The results were delivered across Chittoor, Annamayya and Sri Sathya Sai districts, where the alliance faced no significant competition in the municipal contests. The performance reflects the TDP's consolidation of support in the Rayalaseema region, traditionally considered one of its strongholds in the state.

Mild tensions emerged during counting procedures in Kuppam municipality, where members of the TDP and opposition YSRCP raised allegations of irregularities in three wards. Police rapidly intervened to defuse the situation before any confrontation could escalate, ensuring the remainder of the counting process proceeded without further incident.

The alliance's comprehensive victory in these urban centers provides a significant morale boost as regional politics continue to evolve in Andhra Pradesh. Election officials have not indicated any formal complaints have been filed regarding the disputed wards.
