Law enforcement in Etah district's Marhra police station area has busted a significant educational fraud scheme involving counterfeit medical and nursing qualifications. The arrested suspect, who was operating a tea stall, allegedly used the fake institution to enroll students in various programs and issue fraudulent credentials.
According to police officials, the scheme has been running since 2022. The accused offered admissions and degrees in multiple courses including D-Pharmacy, B-Pharmacy, and nursing programs under the guise of a legitimate educational institution.
Investigators estimate that the suspect defrauded students of more than Rs 2 crore through the scheme. The operation involved issuing fake degree certificates and mark sheets to unsuspecting applicants seeking professional qualifications in the healthcare sector.
The arrest comes as authorities intensify crackdowns on educational fraud networks operating across northern India. Police said further investigations are underway to identify additional victims and determine the full scale of the operation.
