Teacher and son die in Rompin road accident

The tragic incident occurred on Jalan Kuantan-Seremban when the car lost control and veered off the roadway before tumbling down an embankment, according to the Royal Malaysia Police. Emergency responders recovered two fatalities at the scene.

The victims have been identified as a teacher and her son. Authorities did not immediately disclose the ages of those killed or other details regarding the vehicle involved in the accident.

Police said preliminary investigations suggest the vehicle skidded before leaving the road surface. The exact cause of the skid remains under investigation as authorities examine whether weather conditions, mechanical failure, or driver error may have contributed to the crash.

The Rompin district, located in Pahang, has been the site of several serious road accidents in recent years. The Kuantan-Seremban highway is a major thoroughfare connecting the two towns and sees substantial vehicular traffic.
