MANILA—The National Police Commission (Napolcom) confirmed Tuesday that a teacher from Mindanao has filed an administrative complaint against a police corporal assigned to Camp Crame, the Philippine National Police headquarters in Manila, over allegations of prolonged domestic abuse.
The complainant, identified only by the alias "Ma'am" to protect her privacy, accused her live-in partner of subjecting her to repeated abuse spanning nearly nine years. The complaint was formally filed with Napolcom, the civilian oversight body responsible for investigating cases involving members of the police force.
The case represents another instance of domestic violence involving a member of the uniformed police service. Napolcom is tasked with examining administrative violations and misconduct by police personnel, separate from any criminal charges that may be pursued through the regular court system.
The commission did not disclose additional details regarding the specific nature of the abuse allegations or the timeline of the complaint's processing. The investigation into the matter is expected to proceed according to standard Napolcom protocols for administrative complaints against police officers.
