Technical failures disrupt NEET-PG exam in Jaipur, spark student protests
Repeated computer failures at two examination centres in Jaipur on Sunday forced hundreds of NEET-PG candidates to abandon their tests mid-way. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET-PG) 2026 examination was marred by systemic technical failures at two centres in Jaipur's Sitapura area on Sunday. The test, scheduled to commence at 9 am, started nearly an hour behind schedule before computer systems began failing shortly after candidates began answering questions.
Candidates reported experiencing multiple disruptions during the examination window, with some claiming their systems shut down six to seven times. Others alleged even more frequent outages, with computers restarting only to display a limited number of questions before crashing again. The repeated malfunctions left many candidates unable to complete substantial portions of the test.
Multiple students exited the examination halls in protest, expressing frustration over the lack of transparency from centre staff regarding the technical issues. Candidates stated that no adequate explanation or assurance was provided by examination authorities concerning the recurrent system failures or contingency measures being implemented.
The incidents have raised serious concerns about the examination infrastructure's reliability ahead of this crucial postgraduate medical entrance test, with candidates questioning whether they would receive any compensation or opportunity to retake the examination under proper technical conditions.
