Teen arrested after confessing to mother's death in Bohol hammer attack

TAGBILARAN CITY — A teenager has confessed to fatally attacking his mother with a hammer at their home in Panglao, Bohol, authorities reported Sunday. The suspect, aged 15, told police the killing followed a quarrel with his 46-year-old mother at their residence.
According to the Bohol Police Provincial Office, the boy allegedly attempted to conceal evidence of the crime by dragging the victim's body to an abandoned septic tank on their property. Police Major Joseph Lopena, spokesperson for the BPPO, said investigators from Panglao police were alerted and initiated their response shortly after the incident came to light.
The case has been referred to appropriate authorities for further investigation and processing. The specifics surrounding the argument that preceded the attack remain under review as police continue their inquiries into the circumstances of the death.
