Teen arrested with ₹60 lakh in counterfeit notes at Secunderabad station

A teenager has been apprehended by authorities at Secunderabad railway station for allegedly carrying counterfeit currency notes worth ₹60 lakh. The arrest occurred on October 31 when the youth boarded the Mumbai LTT Express, approximately 10 minutes before being intercepted by station personnel.

According to investigators, the teenager had been instructed to travel to Mumbai following the cancellation of the Konark Express due to widespread flooding in the region. The change in travel plans appears to have led authorities to scrutinise his movements more closely.

The seizure represents a significant operation against counterfeiting operations in the region. Railway authorities have initiated a formal investigation into the source of the fake currency and the involvement of any coordinating individuals or networks. The case highlights ongoing efforts by transport security agencies to intercept illicit goods moving through major rail hubs across India.

The teenager is currently in custody as authorities continue their inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the possession of the counterfeit notes.
