Teen charged with parricide in mother's death in Bohol

TAGBILARAN CITY — Police in Bohol have filed parricide charges against a 15-year-old minor following the killing of her 46-year-old mother in Panglao, officials said Tuesday.

Police Capt. Kentbel Ceasar Parcon, chief of the Panglao Municipal Police Station, confirmed that investigators completed their case build-up and submitted the appropriate charges against the child in conflict with the law, or CICL, in accordance with legal protocols.

The incident marks a significant case for local law enforcement, with authorities handling the sensitive matter involving a juvenile suspect in a family-related homicide. Details surrounding the circumstances that led to the mother's death remained limited as of publication, though police confirmed the completion of their investigation.

The filing of charges initiates legal proceedings that will determine the minor's culpability in the death. Cases involving children suspects in the Philippines are handled under special provisions of the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act, which considers the minor's age and circumstances in judicial determination.
