BAGUIO CITY — Education officials and police launched an investigation Wednesday following an alleged firearm threat at Lucban Integrated School involving a Grade 8 student. The 13-year-old pupil allegedly pointed an unserviceable firearm at a fellow classmate during the morning hours, according to information from the school's principal. The incident involved three learners in total.

The Department of Education Baguio division and the Baguio City Police Office have taken up the case. Authorities are examining the circumstances surrounding how the student obtained the weapon and what prompted the alleged threatening behavior.

The incident has raised concerns about school safety in the city. Both DepEd and police officials have not yet disclosed additional details about ongoing investigations or potential charges that may be filed against the student involved.
