A teenager died after collapsing during a workout session at Atal Maidan in Indore on Monday. Kanishk Boyt, 15, suddenly lost consciousness while exercising at the public sports ground in the Madhya Pradesh city.
Bystanders, including the boy's elder brother, immediately initiated cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) at the scene. The teenager was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency medical intervention.
However, doctors at the hospital were unable to save the boy and declared him dead on arrival. The exact cause of the collapse has not been confirmed, though sudden cardiac events can occasionally affect individuals during strenuous physical activity.
The incident has raised concerns about health screening for young athletes and the availability of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) at public exercise facilities. Authorities are likely to conduct a detailed medical examination to determine the precise cause of death.
