Tel Aviv-Vienna Flight Diverted to Bulgaria Over Bomb Threat

A commercial aircraft traveling from Tel Aviv to Vienna was diverted to Bulgaria on Wednesday following a bomb threat, according to flight tracking data. The aircraft, registered as OE-LZE, had entered Romanian airspace at approximately 9:10 pm local time before the crew made the decision to alter its route southward.

Flight monitoring services tracked the aircraft as it reversed course and headed towards Bulgaria for an emergency landing. The diversion came after authorities were alerted to the security threat during the flight's progression across Eastern European airspace.

The incident marks another in a series of aviation security concerns affecting international air routes connecting the Middle East with Europe. Airlines and aviation authorities have maintained heightened vigilance on such routes in recent months.

Details regarding the nature of the threat, the number of passengers and crew aboard, and the outcome of the investigation were not immediately available. Bulgarian aviation authorities were expected to handle the emergency response and subsequent security procedures at the diversion airport.
