Telangana amends municipal law to include transgender members in urban bodies

Telangana has introduced amendments to its Municipalities Act that create a pathway for transgender individuals to serve as co-opted members of urban local bodies (ULBs). The legislative changes are designed to foster greater representation of marginalised communities in municipal decision-making processes across the state.
