Telangana BRS chief attacks Congress over unfulfilled poll promises
The Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi's working president has launched a sharp political offensive against Congress leaders in Telangana, accusing them of failing to deliver on campaign commitments made to voters.

K. Chandrasekhar Rao, working president of the Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi (BRS), has intensified criticism of the Congress-led government in Telangana, targeting both party vice-president Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. The BRS leader characterized Gandhi as an "absentee leader" while directing pointed questions at the fulfillment of electoral pledges made during the recent state elections.
In his attack, Rao alleged that the Congress party had made approximately 420 poll promises to Telangana voters but has largely failed to honor them since assuming office. The BRS chief suggested that Revanth Reddy functions primarily as a tool for advancing the political agenda of Gandhi and the Gandhi family rather than serving as an independent administrator focused on state welfare.
The broadside from Rao reflects escalating tensions between the BRS, which previously governed Telangana, and the Congress government that came to power following last year's elections. Political observers note that such attacks are part of the ongoing opposition strategy to position the BRS as an alternative governance force ahead of potential future electoral contests in the state.
