The Telangana Revenue Department has issued an order clearing the way for the Telangana Housing Board to acquire 6 acres and 15 guntas of land in ward 154 of Zamistanpur village in Musheerabad. The land, previously held by the state Road Transport Corporation, is earmarked for affordable housing initiatives aimed at addressing the housing shortage in the region.
The allocation represents the government's effort to utilize public land holdings for residential development projects that cater to economically weaker sections and middle-income households. The Telangana Housing Board, a state undertaking, has been tasked with implementing the project across the identified plot in the Musheerabad area.
However, the announcement has sparked concerns among residents and community groups in the locality. Local stakeholders have raised questions regarding the project's implementation timeline, the nature of housing units to be constructed, and potential impacts on the existing neighbourhood infrastructure and traffic patterns.
The move comes as the state government continues to accelerate its focus on affordable housing as part of broader urban development objectives. Officials from the Housing Board are expected to prepare detailed project plans that will outline design specifications, occupancy eligibility criteria, and construction schedules for the development.
