Telangana CM accused of claiming credit for BRS-era land case victories
Telangana's opposition BJP leader Harish Rao has alleged that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is taking undue credit for land dispute cases originally pursued by the previous BRS government. Rao accused the Congress-led administration of appropriating achievements from the preceding regime.

Telangana BJP leader Harish Rao leveled accusations against Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Wednesday, claiming the Congress government is misrepresenting its role in several high-profile land cases. According to Rao, multiple legal matters involving land disputes were initiated and contested by the Bharat Rashtra Samithi administration before the Congress took office following the 2023 state elections.
Rao alleged that Reddy's government is presenting these cases as its own achievements despite minimal involvement in their progression. The BJP leader used the term 'credit chori'—Hindi colloquial language meaning 'credit theft'—to describe what he characterized as intellectual dishonesty regarding the government's legal victories.
The accusation comes amid ongoing political tensions in Telangana between the ruling Congress party and opposition parties. This marks another instance of opposition parties questioning the current government's claims regarding developmental projects and legal proceedings inherited from the previous administration.
Neither the Chief Minister's office nor Congress party representatives immediately responded to the allegations. The dispute highlights broader political competition in the state as parties vie for electoral advantage ahead of potential future elections.
