Telangana Man Killed in Russian Missile Strike on Ukraine

Vavilala Sudarshan Goud, a resident of Husnabad village in Telangana's Medak district, was killed when Russian missiles struck his location in Ukraine. The migrant worker had travelled to Ukraine around four months prior, accompanying a relative in search of employment opportunities. He had secured work following his arrival in the eastern European nation.

Goud's death marks another addition to the growing list of Indian nationals affected by the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict. The incident underscores the risks faced by migrant workers from India who travel to conflict zones seeking livelihood opportunities, often with limited awareness of the volatile security situation.

The Indian government has consistently urged citizens to avoid travel to Ukraine and has maintained diplomatic channels to ensure the safety of Indian nationals still present in the country. The Ministry of External Affairs had previously facilitated evacuation operations for Indian citizens during the initial phases of the conflict.

The family of Vavilala Sudarshan Goud was notified of his death through diplomatic channels. Indian missions in neighbouring countries have been coordinating with Ukrainian authorities to assist affected families and explore repatriation of mortal remains where possible.
