Telangana People's Front calls for urgent education reforms
The Telangana People's Front has outlined three critical measures to strengthen the state's education system, including enhanced budget allocation and regulatory oversight of school fees.

The Telangana People's Front (TPF) has made a push for comprehensive reforms in the state's education sector, identifying three priority interventions aimed at reversing declining standards in government schools.
The political outfit has called for substantial strengthening of existing government educational institutions across Telangana, arguing that infrastructure and resource gaps have undermined the quality of public education. The TPF contends that targeted investment in these schools is essential to provide equitable access to quality education for students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
Central to the TPF's reform agenda is a demand for increased budget allocation to education. The organisation has specifically sought a commitment that the state government allocate at least 18 percent of its total budget to the education sector, arguing this level of investment is necessary to address systemic deficiencies and implement meaningful improvements.
The TPF has also advocated for the establishment of an independent Fee Regulatory Commission to oversee fee structures in educational institutions. This proposed body would serve as a safeguard against arbitrary fee increases and ensure that private schools maintain transparent, regulated pricing practices that do not place undue burden on families.
These demands reflect growing concerns about the trajectory of education in Telangana and the need for policy intervention to support both government and regulated private institutions in delivering quality education to the state's student population.
