Telangana seeks Centre approval for elevated corridor and road projects

Telangana's Roads and Buildings Minister has urged the state government to prioritize construction of a 6-kilometre elevated corridor linking L.B. Nagar and Hayatnagar, citing the project's importance for easing traffic congestion in the expanding city.

The minister has simultaneously requested that the state administration seek necessary clearances from the central government for the northern section of the Regional Ring Road (RRR), a key infrastructure initiative aimed at decongesting Hyderabad's arterial routes.

The dual push reflects the state's focus on addressing transportation challenges through multi-pronged infrastructure development. The L.B. Nagar-Hayatnagar elevated corridor is expected to provide an alternative route, potentially reducing congestion on existing roads in the southern parts of Hyderabad.

The RRR project, when fully operational with both northern and other sections, is designed to create a bypass for through-traffic, enabling faster movement around the city periphery. Securing central approvals for such large-scale transport infrastructure typically involves detailed environmental and technical assessments.

These initiatives form part of Telangana's broader infrastructure modernization agenda aimed at supporting the city's growth and improving commuter experiences.
