Telangana to build G+5 Indiramma Housing towers across four municipal zones

The Telangana government has announced plans to develop G+5 (ground plus five-storey) Indiramma Housing towers across four major municipal corporations in the state, marking a significant expansion of its affordable housing programme.

The construction initiative will span Nalgonda, Warangal, Nizamabad and Karimnagar corporations, according to an announcement by a state minister overseeing the housing portfolio. The Indiramma Housing scheme, a flagship programme of the Telangana government, aims to provide affordable residential units to economically weaker sections of the population.

The G+5 configuration indicates mid-rise residential structures that will accommodate multiple housing units within each complex. This vertical construction approach is designed to maximize land utilization while providing housing in urban areas where land availability remains constrained.

The project represents the government's commitment to address housing shortages across urban centres in Telangana. By extending the scheme to these four municipal corporations, authorities aim to reach a broader beneficiary base across the state's secondary cities.
