The Telangana government has begun processing refunds of ₹10,000 earnest money deposits (EMD) collected from applicants who applied for affordable housing units under its residential schemes.
As per the current timeline, officials are conducting field-level verification to confirm the eligibility of beneficiaries across the state. This verification process is a mandatory step before the next phase of the scheme's implementation.
Once the verification process is completed, the government will proceed with issuing allotment letters to successful applicants. The refund process for the EMD will be integrated with the allotment procedure to streamline administration.
The affordable housing scheme aims to provide residential units to eligible citizens at subsidized rates. The verification process is expected to ensure that only qualified beneficiaries receive allotments under the program's criteria.
