Temasek Trust and World Bank Group forge climate partnership

Temasek Trust and the World Bank Group have formalized a strategic partnership focused on advancing climate action and energy transition efforts, marking a significant collaboration between the Singapore-based investment company and the international development institution.

The memorandum of understanding, signed on October 12, establishes a framework for the two organizations to work together on projects and initiatives that address climate change mitigation and sustainable energy development. The partnership leverages Temasek Trust's investment expertise and regional presence alongside the World Bank Group's development mandate and technical capabilities.

The collaboration is expected to support South and Southeast Asian economies in their efforts to meet climate commitments and transition to cleaner energy systems. By combining resources and knowledge, the partnership aims to identify opportunities for scaling climate solutions and mobilizing capital toward sustainable infrastructure and renewable energy projects.

Temasek Trust, the philanthropic arm of Singapore's sovereign wealth fund, has previously engaged in environmental initiatives across the region. The World Bank Group maintains an active presence in developing climate finance and clean energy programs throughout Asia, positioning both organizations as key players in regional sustainability efforts.

The partnership underscores growing momentum among institutional investors and multilateral institutions to integrate climate considerations into development strategies across emerging markets in South and Southeast Asia.
