The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) issued a red rainfall warning Friday afternoon for ten Luzon localities in the path of the southwest monsoon system, locally known as the habagat.
The weather advisory, released at 2 p.m., indicated that the affected areas face significant precipitation risks as the tropical wind pattern continues to affect the western portions of the largest Philippine island.
Red-level rainfall warnings signal that heavy downpours pose immediate threats to communities, with potential for flash flooding in low-lying areas and landslides in mountainous terrain.
