Tengah resident transforms HDB corridor for Halloween community celebration

The resident's initiative to festoon their HDB corridor with Halloween-themed decorations has created an inviting space for families in the neighbourhood to participate in trick-or-treating activities. The decorated corridor serves as a focal point for community engagement, encouraging residents to celebrate the seasonal occasion together.

The project reflects growing efforts among Singapore's grassroots communities to foster neighbourhood bonding through organised celebrations and shared festive occasions. Halloween, though not a traditional Asian festival, has gained popularity as a fun community event in residential areas islandwide.

Such grassroots initiatives demonstrate how residents can take individual action to enhance community spirit and create memorable experiences for neighbours, particularly families with children. The decorated corridor transforms a common space into a welcoming environment that encourages interaction among residents.

The event underscores the role of community-led activities in strengthening social cohesion within HDB estates, where residents often seek ways to build connections and celebrate special occasions together. These neighbourhood celebrations contribute to a sense of belonging and shared identity among residents in the estate.
