The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has warned residents across six provinces to prepare for heavy and torrential rainfall expected to impact the region on October 26 and 27. The alert comes as a weather system is forecast to bring significant precipitation to multiple areas during the two-day period.
Authorities have advised residents and local officials in the affected provinces to monitor weather developments closely and take preventive measures. The TMD recommends residents avoid unnecessary outdoor activities during peak rainfall hours and remain alert to flash flooding risks in low-lying areas and near waterways.
Landslide warnings have also been issued for hilly and mountainous terrain in the impact zones. Relevant government agencies have been put on standby to respond to emergency situations, including potential evacuations if conditions warrant. Residents are encouraged to keep emergency supplies on hand and stay informed through official weather updates.
The TMD continues to monitor atmospheric conditions and is expected to provide updated forecasts as the weather system develops. Travelers and commuters are advised to exercise caution and plan accordingly for potential disruptions during the warning period.
